Ok, so I dragged my butt out of bed at 5:15am to go listen for turkeys with season 2 days away. I walked about 1/2 mile up a corn field and sat just inside the woods, several hundred yards below a ridge where I found turkey scratchings the other day. Guys, I heard nothing and I'm worried, lol! I waited until light then tried some hooting to no success. Could a 20 degree temperature have caused the gobblers to shut-up? My other thoughts are if there was a gobbler here, someone got him during the youth hunt, or there are no gobblers around this spot. I don't know where to look. I am going out tonight to another part of the woods to listen and will definitely got out Saturday morning though they said rain. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone have a free gobbler,lol![]()

! A couple years ago we scouted several turkeys the week before season opened. Open day, nothing! But we did call in three yotes. We had to go to the other side of the mountain to find where they were hiding. Also if there are coyotes in the area you're turkeys may come in silent.
