Default Ugly weather for the opener

Ok, so this is what the National Weather Service website has given as weather for the day befor and day of turkey season in my part of NY:

Saturday: Periods of rain, mainly before 3pm. High around 51. East wind 13 to 16 mph becoming west. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Saturday Night: Rain showers likely, mixing with snow after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low near 39. West wind between 15 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Sunday: A chance of rain and snow showers before 9am, then a chance of rain showers. Cloudy, with a high around 47. West wind between 14 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

What do you all think my best chances are, in terms of set-up and finding turkeys? I would suspect this is going to keep some hunters in which will allow me to move around a little more. Would sticking to fields probably be the best set-up? There are several fields I know turkeys go to in the rain but the problem is deciding which fields to set-up at. What are the rest of you in NY doing Sunday?

Yup, head to the fields. Freshly plowed ones are usually the best bets. Thats where I will be...at least until the thunderstorms chase me out.

Thanks buck! LOL yeah when I'm out turkey hunting and I hear thunder, I practically run to the car or home! Last year I was standing on top of a gravel pit in the morning listening to gobblers when the thunder came, I ran down and sat in this big John Deer loader all morning, got some shut eye, lol. I did see a hen come out.

I vowed never to take off on the opener ever again. Everyone and his/her brother will be out that day!! Tuff enough trying to get a gobbler away from some hens, yet alone competing with other hunters!!
After tuesday, I'm off for 8 days!! I'll be sure to get into it big time then!! Be sure to dress accordingly, with Rain in the forcast for the next few days, it might be tuff sledding!!
