Unbelievable!!!!!

My brother and I went out hunting staurday morning. We went to this parcel which we are the only ones who have perminssion to hunt on. The birds are gobbling like crazy. So we split up and each try to work two different birds.

To cut to the chase!!! I have a tom about 60 yards away and closing fast. My brother has a tom and a jake about 70 yards away, and slowly coming towards him. Out of no where this idiot starts shooting at his birds at about 55 yards away. Scared the birds away and it was the end of our hunt.

I approached him and asked him, "why the **** are you shooting 50 yards at a turkey". He told me, "my gun patterns great at 50 yards". I called him out and told him, "********". He said, "he had to take that long shot because he heard yelping and the turkeys were moving away from him."

I asked where he had permission to hunt, and he told me the adjacent property. I told him he better get back over their and never come back or their will be big problems. The nerve of some idiots.

We were finally on birds that were responding, and this jack **** mess's it up!!!! No apology or anything.

yeah some people are just really stupid escpically when it comes to get a tropht animal. sorry to hear what happened. thats the kind of thing that will ruin your day and make you want to knock there teeth out.

Man...that sucks! Looks like you have about the same kinda luck as I do...all BAD . Don't get too upset over the whole ordeal, I usually have intruders mess my hunts up at least once or twice a year. Two weeks ago I called a couple of gobblers in and was about to let the hammer down of one of them and a group of old people came hiking by on the Finger Lakes trail and spooked them. Man was I pissed...just a few more steps and I woulda had the strutter. Hopefully you'll have some better luck over the next week.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune...I know exactly what you mean. It seems like every year someone messes up at least one of my hunts. A buddy of mine and I have a hunting lease together and he caught this one guy hunting on us this year and the guy had the nerve to tell him that property lines don't matter if the turkeys are gobbling....can you believe that?!?!?

That's a bummer. Well since you let the guy go after tresspassing on you, you still might want to call the adjacent landowner to let him know about the problem.

Last weekend, we were calling to another hunter the whole morning with a gobbler trapped in between the two of us. But lucky enough, we picked up on their movement and spoke up.

Rossman, I feel ya man. I would be mad as well. But the efffort you take to get around the "cuss word editor" you could probably come up with something else . One another note, I don't think holding them at gun point is too smart either let alone knowing there are hunters out there like that who actually would over something like this.

What gives hunters bad names are people like you who come in here and talk about killing deer hunters (in your one thread that got deleted) and now holding someone at gun point for something like this. I don't like them anymore than the next guy but to come on here and tell everyone to just hold them at gun point is kinda childish and makes me wonder about you. On a message boards it's pretty difficult to read intent because of the lack of voice inflection and facial expressions. It's best to be on the safe side and avoid those types of posts.

As far as what to do with tresspassers. Call the CO or law enforcement. I used to carry a tire valve stem core remover to keep them around until they arrived. That way I don't do any property damage and get myself in hot water. It's hard to drive on a couple of flat tires. Not to mention that many folks carry a camera/camera phone for taking pics. Take a picture of the guy or his vehicle.

There isn't an animal in the world worth getting shot over.

I know the "holding the guy at gun point" was a joke. So everybody relax!!!! No need to get your panties in a bunch!!!!!

But if I did do that, it would have made a bad situation worse. I really wanted to punch the guy out but that would have bad too. I should have asked to see his gun and then thrown it in the pond. The guy was just an idiot. I don't think he thought he did anything wrong. If I messed up another hunters hunt, I would apologize about on thousand times.

What really torqued me is that he took a 60 yard shot at the turkey, and had the nerve to say his gun is patterned for that distance. Instead of passing the turkey up when it started towards my brother, he took a desperation shot. That right their shows his ignorance. What ever happened to a quick humane kill.

My grandfather always told me, their are more horses asses than horses. this seems to be the case here.

I firmly let him know that if we see him again, their will be big trouble!!!!
