Ooopsie!!!
Last spring I had a chance at a huge gobbler...he flew down in front of me, was gobbling, I thoguht he was about 30 yards. My shot went just over the top of him. I found most of the shot in a tree, a few inches higher than where his head would be. I believe I got too excited and didn't have my cheek down on the gun enough. Good luck to you!
Tim, it's been a very lousy season in NY this year!! I haven't had a gobbler in my scope the entire month!!! I was going to go out this morning, but it's raining out!!!! Tomorrow the fat lady sings!!

Yup. This turkey season has been pretty darn bad.
TPhunter, although it is legal here in NY, I would not have reccomended you shooting at a bearded hen this late in the spring season because almost definetly, she has a nest and the poults are not too far behind.
Better luck next season!
