How many custom call makers are there on this site??? I see that there are a LOT of registered users on here and was just wonderin how many of you are custom call makers.

I'm going to try it during the long winter. We have slate piles all over the area, I have a wood shop, and I love to bowhunt turkeys.......seems like the natural thing to try and do.

I've seen Strut10 and huntin4bucks customs calls, and they are sweet just as yours are... I love getting the sneak peaks you guys give us as they are being built... man what talent you guys have....Now if I can only coax huntin4bucks in sending me one....

There is one thing I have seen here and on some of the other sites...I am selling a LOT of calls to you fellas up north in NY, NJ, PA, MA, North East Ohio...My question is how long is your winter, what does this cold weather do for the birds, and how long is your turkey season??? Do you have a fall season?

Well here in the northeast (Vermont) our winters cand last for 5-6 months.... ,, and the effects on the Turkey population of course would be dictated by the type of winters we get for that particular year.

Our Turkey season length depends on where you live here in Vermont,,, Here in the northern tier where I live we can only hunt Turkeys in the spring (May 1st.-31st.) and we can only take a Tom,with no fall season...

In the Mid to southern tier of the state the season is two part. Spring hunting (May 1st.-31st.) Toms only and in the fall (Oct. 21 st.- Nov. 5th. ) which includes Toms and Hens...

Just so we are clear on the VT southern tier fall season...

From the 7th. of Oct. to the 20th of Oct. is bow only and the rest of the aloted time is weapon prefference ( shotgun or Bow )

I hunted in southern Ohio a few years back and it was a fall seaon there and it too was bow only.

OK, now that Luke has confused everyone, lol.

A nuclear blast could hit Vermont, and only roaches, turkeys, and my mother-in-law would survive........winters don't bother the birds here in Vermont at all. Every year our flocks get bigger and bigger and the seasons get better and better.

One reason you might sell so many calls here, is because Turkey hunting is still pretty new, and there are a lot of guys that are just getting into it.......guys that have been deer hunters their whole lives are now starting to turkey hunt. My father has killed hundreds of deer but has yet to take his first bird.

I make custom box calls. I'm working on several right now that I need to finish up...deer season and duck season has been taking up most of my time recently though.

I put some slates together, usually around this time of year. Keeps the winter "blahs" at bay a little.

Well....so far it looks like there are 6 of us out of the whole turkey huntin forum...LOL...they need to get a Custom Call Maker's forum on here now just to accomidate all the custom call maker posts...LOL...

Just to introduce myself...I am Alex Williams of Williams Custom Calls. My shop is located in Dearing Ga which is about 20 miles West of Augusta Ga. I make Custom Pot Calls from both Domestic and Exotic woods.
