    Default Turkey choke for gun

Ok, I've been thinking about investing in a decent choke for my gun for turkey hunting, although I haven't had too much luck the last 2.5 years. I have a Mossberg 500 20ga. and just a full choke for that is I think a Mossberg factory. I may be going to Gander Mountain tomorrow and want to check things out. Can anyone give me some good suggestions as to a good choke to look for? I know some chokes pattern differently but I'd like something that will likely have a good pattern when I use it and not have to buy something else. Are there any chokes out there that any of you use that are consistent? Thanks!

I posted this same question a couple weeks ago and COMP-N-CHOKE was the clear winner. I will be ordering mine very soon.

Even though its a favorite, and it is working great in my 835! It may not produce the results you want! Every shotgun is different. Best thing to do is to try different choks to see which will work the best!!!

All about $20. I tried them as well, they were ok at best. The Comp-N-Choke worked the best in my Mossberg 835 at 40 yards. At 40 yards, if your planning to shoot a turkey, you might want to try a C-N-C for the extra $35.

IMO...any extended aftermarket choke tube (designed for turkey loads) will perform better than factory.
Check ebay for some tubes...could get some good prices.

Second that. It's been my experience that this holds true nearly all if not all the time.

Question is: Do you want a "good" choke or do you want a "great" choke. Very often the difference between the two comes down to $$. Not always. But often.

On the cheap side, the H.S. Undertaker will most likely out-perform your factory tube to some extent.

Great insite there Strut. I shoot a Win 1300 with a C-N-C and I wanted the best choke on the market possible IMO. I did a lot of reading and studying on chokes before I went with my choice. Not that I'm a great turkey hunter, but with this setup I have killed turkeys from 13yds to 45yds and I have not had 1 get away YET. Yes the C-N-C is more $ than alot of others but I will say it has searved me well. My.02 cents.

Hastings also makes very good choke tubes in the $25 - $30 range. The Mossberg/Winchester/Weatherby... will fit your 500 20 gauge.

Here's where you can find some. About 3/4 of the way down the page.

    Hastings Chokes for Mossberg/Winchester/Weatherby

My daughter has had very good results with the .566 in her Rem 870(your results may vary). They have them from .562-.574 diameter in the Ext. Turkey chokes there.

Otherwise the Comp n Choke is very good as many others have mentioned already.
