Default Turkey Hunting and Hunting Blinds. I need to know!

I just bought a hunting blind and want to use it during Turkey season. I know during deer season its best to put it out a few days if not more before hunting so the deer get use to it. Now on Turkey hunting I heard the Turkeys will not be spooked seeing it for the first time like a deer might. IS this true? If so I could opening morning put the blind in the middle of a field and place my decoys out and Turkeys won’t hesitate to come out of the woods and walk around it the same day?

Reason being I’ll be hunting with a friend on some land and may be jumping around to different farms and not sure where I'm hunting or if I’ll hunt the same place twice. I want to feel confident if I place my blind at the edge or out in a open field it won’t spook the Turkeys!?!?

    Thanks!

Turkeys will not pay no mind to the blind, best way to hunt them in my opinion. Makes it alot easier to try to capture the hunt on video as well. Best of luck to you this spring, come on April 15th.

I used my doghouse last year and had hens 20 yards from it. Put it up that morning.

Turkeys will pay no attention to the blind as long as it does not move. If the blinds blows in the wind they will be skittish and hesitant. I hunt from a double bull and always stake the blind down even if it's not windy in case the wind picks up. Looks like mostly KY boys in this thread!

I was a little hesitant about putting mine up in the middle of the narrow logging road but I thought what the heck, the pros do it, and I WOULDN'T BE AFRAID TO PUT IT UP IN THE MIDDLE OF A BARE DIRT FIELD!!! Just make sure the inside of the blind is dark and wear dark clothes and you are set!

A week before season, you should have the birds pretty patterned....Ill set my blind up in the dark, a week or even two before season...those birds will be practically in it by season...they just dont seem to care..........al
