    Default Turkey setup

    Should I use a jake decoy in a setup and if so what is the importance.

    The reason some hunters use a jake decoy is to work the dominance thing. If a gobbler see's a jake in his territory sometimes he will come in and try to run him off.
    Now after saying that I have used a jake decoy that had a total opposite effect. I have called in a gobbler that came in strutting and once he saw the jake decoy he broke strut and was acting real passive. He was a good bird too, he had 1 1/8" spurs.
    Sometimes they are not in the mood to fight.
