    Default Best patterns yet!!!

Bought a Comp-n-choke and was VERY disappointed last week when I patterned it. I had tried 4 or 5 differnt loads and although they were OK they just werent what I expected. Definately not as good as my undertaker and not worth $50.00.

I decided to try one last load and was that worth the trip.

    The patterns are INSANE!!!

Kill hits at 38 yds were tripled compared to the undertaker. Now I'm solid out to 45 but I peter out past that.Very nice!!!

I finally really feel good about the pattern

Load used was Fed Flight control #6, 2 1/4 oz. This patterned way better than the 2 oz High Velocity Flight Control loads out of the comp-n-choke.

What I found was that dirty barrels are better and the comp-n-choke is VERY picky.

I counted all hits on the 11x11 target plus kill hits. Neck and brain.

    30 yds.....263/11

    38yds.....231/23

    45yds....132/8

    50 yds....79/3

I got them at sportsman's warehouse.

Remington has some you can download on there website. I'm not sure about the link but I printed some off last weekend. They dont show lethal neck and brain areas but I've used them quite a bit when I'm in a pinch.

I'm sure you could find them on cabelas or bass proshops too.

    Wacoyote........

Completely opposite of what I've experienced. (I've found that a clean barrel shoots better and the C-N-C tube will shoot just about anything well........just some better than others.) Incredible!! Just goes to show...........try as many combinations as you can because one load can completely dominate. Glad to see you've found your combo. Looks like some dead turkeys!!

What load was you useing with your undertaker? I have a mossberg 835 and switched to the undertaker to see if it would help but not finding the right loads because I not happy with my patterns still.

    Thanks!

You just never know what will work. Those federal flite control worked best with my comp n choke as well. Even though they are not supposed to work well with a wad stripping choke like comp n choke. But you can't argue with the results.

The best results out of the undertaker were from the Federal Flight control 2 oz. High Velocity #6 load. The #4 seemed to work good too. Thats what I used last year but it was a long shot (42yds) and I had to hit the bird twice to finish him.

I patterned a mossy with a guy once who had good results with that load too but he was using the choke that came with the gun.

    Good luck.
