Default Know of a Good Coyote Howler?

Does anyone use a coyote howler? ...how effective do you think they are (vs. owl, crow, etc). Any recommendations on what brand to use?

I use one coyote hunting...personally, I am of the opinion that while turkey hunting, I want to sound like anything BUT a predator...

I avoid them at all coast while turkey hunting. Think about it, if you hear a coyote howl off in one direction, are you going towards it if you're a turkey........I'm not, lol.

I have a Knight & Hale that works very well. I only use it in the evening right before dark when they should be on the roost.

I guess I wasn't looking to use one during the day time...I was gearing towards finding roost locations. I was hoping someone may have had some experience with a long range howler (when other locators don't seem to work anymore).

I've used my Lohman Howler in the evening and early morning. It does work pretty good at times.

I don't like them. You'll probably get a turkey to gobble, but I doubt he'll stick around if you sound like a natural predator.

I use a Carlton's calls howler as an evening locator after fly up only. It hasn't been my experience that the birds were bothered by it as I've killed several of the birds I located with it the next morning. (They're in a tree already)

I have a friend who says the lil dog by primos is a good howler, never used it for a turkey but he said it has a pretty good sound.
