I've have noticed a tendency for turkeys to head for the fields on windy days like they'll do on rainy days. It gives their sense an advantage over the elements.

Hearing and being heard are big problems when the wind picks up. Get yourself a loud boxcall and hunt slowly, calling often.

Down here gobbling activity on the roost and when they're on the ground drops dramatically when it's windy. Temp has very little to do with gobbling activity down here. In areas were high wind is common, I've seen that the wind adversely affects gobbling activity less than it does down here. Obviously, when it's windy it's also harder to hear a bird gobble too.

I watched a gobbler this past weekend strutting with 2 hens in a field. The temp was in the upper 30's at dawn, it was very windy at the time and he never gobbled. He just strutted for those 2 hens. I managed to call him up to about 20 yards from my 8 year old shooter and his dad but he saw their movement when he tried to re-adjust for a shot.
