I NEED HELP!!!!

I went out this evening and roosted some birds. I hit a goose call....nothing. I hit an owl hooter and WHAM! HE hit it. He was across the road behind my house about 100 yards in the woods from my back yard. I have a good idea of where they are. The weatherman is calling for rain tonight and tomorrow. What should I do to get these birds off the roost and right to my gun? Thanks a lot guys.

Turkeys seem to like fields when it's rainning out,, you may want to start there if there is one close by....

not to say that your wrong or anything but here in WI the turkeys like to stick in the woods when its raining, especially this pine tree woods by my house.

I would just have to say go out before light and hit the owl hooter and try to find the tree and get as close as posible without getting to close. let us know what happens

not to say that your wrong or anything but here in WI the turkeys like to stick in the woods when its raining, especially this pine tree woods by my house.

If there's hens roosted close, you need to get as close as you can. If not, I'd try to get in there within about 80 yds or so and do some soft cluckin before fly down, he just might come right to you!

Any updates, woodsman?

I'd say turkeys like to be in the woods during the rain, then in the fields right after. There ya go, split the difference!

Ya it didnt rain at all yesterday. I got within 100 yards of them. They gobbled pretty well on the roost to crows but they wouldnt answer my calls. They flew down the other way, and i didnt hear from them the rest of the day.

Tomorrow I leave for Montana and will miss a whole week of the season. Hopefully those birds will be a little more coperative when I get back but who knows. Good Luck everyone!

When will there be less hens available?

I would think the last two weeks of the season most of the hens will be nesting.
