sunday me and my dad went up to a farm with alot of green fields and one little wood lot. so we get to the top of the hill, and hear a gobbler on the other side of the wood lot so we set up a decoy and called..but we could tell he wasnt getting closer, so we decided to try and cirle around and we made the right move. we moved and he started coming right through the wood lot..i saw him first strutting through the trees..he had a nice full fan and sounded good. so he got to about 70 yards and 2 hens flew off the roost away from us which was great so they wouldnt hang him up. at about 60 yards i saw him for the last time and all i could hear was him spittin and drummin but i couldnt see him. Then i hear my dad wisper "Chris hes over here" so i looked to my right but i couldnt see him so i moved my gun no more than 8 inches and i still could not see him...and then my dad says.."hes gone". apparently my dad saw him comin the whole time but didnt know i didnt see him and must be the turkey saw me move cuz he was long gone. even though i havnt killed a turkey yet ive had many close calls and i have missed. but this year more than ever I have learned alot. still got 2 more weeks left though. and ya better believe I'll still be chasing em till I get em. Good luck everyone
