    Default Owl locator call?

i need suggestions on an owl locator call...nothing expensive, something for a beginner. i paid a couple dollars and bought a primos power owl, but (and i am no expert) IMO...it sounds like crap!! maybe it is just me, but i don't think so...i am lookin for something that won't cost a lot..maybe $20-$30..any ideas?

I bought a Hunters Specialtys kit that came with a slate and a owl locater call a couple years back for about fifteen dollars and the owl call sounds great and is as simple as just blowing air through it. It has worked great for me

Try learning how do use your own voice. It can be done with practice.

I prefer the Primos power owl over the Primos Hoot Flute - just don't think the Hoot Flute has the volume needed.

The first one I ever had was made by Lohmans, I have no idea where that one went to LOL. I now have the Primos power owl, I hardly use it anymore as there are a ton of owls in the places I hunt so I usually just let them do the work.

The Power Owl is the best owl locator I have found. I have the Hoot Flute and the Power Owl. I pretty much just use the Power Owl. Most guys just don't know how to use it. Cover the end so you can get back pressure (like using a short reed goose call). I love the power owl because you can do the monkey chatter and really get those hot toms FIRED UP!!
