Just wondering what everyone thinks of these two. Which would you prefer?

i prefer the xtended......but you really need to try both and see what works best for you and your gun.
Depending on your choke tube, the Federal Heavyweight may or may not be compatible. Check with the manufacturer. Federal Heavyweights also, quite often, don't pattern well out of a ported choke. TheWinchester X-Tended is compatible with every tube I know of. It puts 10-15% more pellets on target than a comparable Winchester Supreme lead shotshell.
I shoot the winchester XTended ranges and they work great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just patternd my benelli with the Xtended ranges and put about 85 n his head from 40 Jake!! We gunna do a number on em' this year!!!
Last year I switched to using a Carlson's tube in my Benelli. I tried Remington's Hevi Shot, Federal's Heavyweight and Winchester's XTended Range 3 1/2" loads. In my case the Winchester's patterned the best and I was able to get 2 nice long beards with them in #5 shot.
What choke constriction are you guys using with the Winchester Extended Range? Or what choke constriction do they recommend
I would like to try some and hopefully switch to it. It seems to have many good things going for it.

I ran a pretty decent test on the 3" Winchester X-Tended #6 shot last spring. Through a XXX-full Comp-N-Choke (.665") it printed awesome patterns considerably farther than I'd ever shoot it at a turkey.
I shoot the 3" and 3.5" Federal Mag shoks with the Flight Control wad. I use the good ole copper plated lead shot. At 45 yards these flight control wads will bounce off of the target. The amount of #4 pellets on the head/neck area of the turkey will send him down the road to glory in a hurry. I shoot these in my Remington 870 pump with a Comp-n-Choke XXFull choke.

I have never shot the federals but i know from experience that the winchesters are a good shell. You probably cant go wrong either way with all the good stuff on the market these days
