I haven't really looked at new ones in a while Steve but here's some of the things I would look for in a turkey vest.
1. Silence. I don't want anything on a vest that will make noise if I have to make any slight movements while sitting down against a tree. No velcro or junk like that either.
2. If it has shoulder straps they must be padded. I really prefer a vest style turkey vest. They distribute the weight over a larger area of your shoulder thus they are more comfortable.
3. Ample pocket space inside and outside the vest. Nice to have some pockets made specifically for certain calls like box calls and slate calls. Big inside pockets are real nice for things like extra face mask & gloves, zip loc bags, camera, binocs, etc.
4. Good back padding down the center of the back. That sure makes sitting on a tree a lot more comfortable.
5. A water proof seat attached. Nothing wose than sitting down to turkey hunt and have ground moisture soak up through the seat of your vest.
6. A good, strong, lined game pouch in the back for carrying out your turkey. Detachable is a lot more preferable too. If you can detach it, it is a lot easier to wash out blood than emptying out your vest so your calls, etc. don't get wet.
With that said, there will be shoppers that are more concerned about price than quality so you probably should stock some cheaper ones too.
Here's a few that seem to be selling very good this year.
HS Strut SUV vest. This comes in both RT hardwood and new APG. Has the padded straps and plenty of pockets. I'd stock both the reg model and deluxe model.
Primos new strap vest is a good one. However the shoulder straps on this one are not padded but the price is right.
Primos gobbler vest. Don't know much about this one but I hear it's selling very well this year.
The vests I listed are all very reasonably priced. There are some very nice expensive ones out, but personally I dont see the need for some of those other accessories in the turkey woods, plus you pay extra for them.
I have an Ol' Tom vest Steve and love it, magnetic pockets, magnetic seat that is super comfortable and great pocket placement and it came in Realtree Hardwoods Green camo.
Just a great vest that will last me for many seasons.
The Primos Gobbler vest is also a good one to have on hand. Pockets are in great locations.
The Super Elite is always a fan favorite and that is probably why the NWTF endorses it.
I have owned all 3 but will keep the Ol' Tom for many more years!!
I personally like the Primos Gobbler Vest and the Mossy Oak Super Elite vest.
Here's my top 5 (Order: most interested > least interested) vests I've had my eyes on this season:
<ul type="square">[*]Walls 10x NWTF Vest
[*]Whitewater Outdoors 3D Realleaf Full Turkey Vest
[*]Hunter's Specialties Sport Utility Vest with Seat
[*]Whitewater Outdoors 3D Realleaf Strap Turkey Vest
[*]Mossy Oak Super Elite III Hybrid Turkey Vests[/list]
Another vote for the Mossy Oak Elite vest!!![]()
I'll second the Whitewater RealLeaf vest. I have a full set (vest, pants, gloves, mask) and had great luck with it in the early part of last year's season.
The only problem I see with it is that while it's Realtree Hardwoods Green HD, it is very brownish in its coloration. It works wonderfully in early April in Oklahoma, but by late April and early May, in the second half of turkey season, things have greened up and leafed out and it starts standing out more against the green-ness of the woods.
Nonetheless, highly recommended.
Epeards Lounge all the way!!!! you should check them out!!!! you don't even have to have a tree to lean on!!!! best turkey vest i've ever had!!!! guaranteed!! they're quiet, rugged, reliable!!!! wholesome goodness in a turkey vest!!!!! it's almost better than chocolate!!!! lol

Silly boys trucks are for girls!!!
Whitewater Outdoors makes some nice turkey vests.
Definately the HS SUV Regular and Delux
I got the Redhead model, I forget what its named but its the 49.99 one. I bought it because associates of bass pro get 40% off all things bass pro (Bob Timberlake, uncle Bucks, Offshore Angler, Redhead, etc.) So I figured it was a cheap buy. Got it and im tellin you that thing is awesome. Plenty of room ive got everything in there. I love it. Great vest. I wish it came with the pad that the mossy oak dixon comes with though haha that thing is almost 4 inches thick I think
