Who makes calls on here?

Not sure if I want a slate call or a box call.

Here is the deal, a co-worker of mine who retired a few years back lost his wife to cancer a few months back. This guy took a lay off to be with his wife and she seemed to be on the road to recovery but the cancer got the best of her but she put up a courageous fight. Sad thing was she was a nurse and spent her life caring for others and this time she needed the caring but my buddy took care of her till the end.

Well this guy and I would talk turkeys at work and he got me hooked into it. I would tell him my experiences and he would tell me what I did wrong and more often than not he made me a better hunter.

So I was thinking to repay him and to honor his late wife I wanted to get a call made especially for him maybe with his wife's name engraved on it. She liked chasing turkeys just as much as he did as well as she was a deer hunter. So not only did my friend lose his wife but his hunting partner as well.

Any help would be appreciated, PM me if you would.

Box call or slate, does not matter just that it will have his wife's name on it and he can take her with him to the woods and she can be with him!!

Sorry to hear about your friend's loss. I am not a call maker myself, but am sure once this request gets read you will have a ton of calls coming your way. It's a great feeling when you can return a favor to a special friend...especially to your turkey hunting mentor.

If you get me a pic, I can put her picture in a glass call. Then he can have here picture with him also. We have done quite a few with first time turkeys in the calls, first time deer and so on.

Thanks guys for the Pm's and the interest. I do not have a picture of his wife but I love that idea and right now it will be a surprise to him so if I ask for a picture that may make him wonder. I was thinking that just her name be on it, not sure on putting the date of birth and date of death on it. What do you guys think of that? I think just a saying like.... In Memory of ....... and his wife's name or In Memory of my hunting partner...... and then his wife's name.

This guy was a repairman here where I work and he had more years senority working here than I have living on this great planet, so he was a mentor both on his work ethic, his knowledge of his craft that he would share with me (no such thing as a dumb question when I asked him things) and he loved to talk hunting, especially how I did hunting. When he lost his wife it hurt me just as much to see him hurting. I never knew much about chasing turkeys but he taught me a lot and I will always remember that.
