Default Take a trip down Turkey Memory Lane... (pics)

This was my first Turkey ever. Heres one I killed about 6 years ago? I called this Bronze colored one in for my dad. It weighed 24 1/2 pounds. My buddy from Arkansas killed this one after 5 full hard days of hunting. I never saw someone shake so bad!! I'll never forget that hunt. If you have a pic of a past hunt that was particularly special to you please post it!

This was a hunt in '04.

The other fellow was my turkey hunting teacher. He taught me everything about turkey hunting. A true Bama warrior in the turkey woods.

Sadly, he passed away in January of '05. This was one of our last hunts together.

This isn't of the hunt, but it my most memorable bird. It was my first longbeard, and he just so happened to have 4 beards. I got him in 2003.

    Great pictures Randy!!

Here is a picture of the turkey I shot in 03 in Nebraska. I actually wounded this bird and after a sleepless night I told my guide I wanted to go back and look for him. He thought we were wasting our time but beleive it or not we found him and i walked with 10 yards of him. As soon as I was ready to squeeze the trigger he took off in the air and I missed him twice flying. Not easy to shoot a flying turkey with a scope! I watched where he landed and finally walked up to him about 30 yards away and finished him off. 5 shots and 24 hours later I bagged my most memorable turkey.. Here he is:

Can remember every one, where they were shot. What the morning was like. But I must admit, I've never enjoyed shooting a bird as much as calling in for others. I now live to work birds for kids. this is the one I got for a boy in my youth class at church.

    Lots of GREAT pics guys.

This is my bird last year.

This is my dads first EVER spring gobbler. I called it in for him. It was a very memorable morning.

Well this last picture is of my biggest bird (weight) to date. My dad had me setup on birds, while he had to go to work I went hunting. He had roosted these bird and told me exactly where they were, so I managed to called them into a very long range of 15 to 20 yards. Well turkey fever got the best of me. I moved to shoot at the wrong time and missed. I was so mad.. So I went to another part of our farm and within 20 minutes of setting up and calling this dude and another big bird and 3 jakes came to the party. I made darn sure not to mess this one up and I left the party with 25 1/4 lbs of fresh turkey meat

This is the bird that started the craze for me back in 1992, I was on a quest of taking a mature longbeard ever since, no more jakes!!

This was a special trophy back in 1996, he had six beards on him, another last day gobbler taken in NY.

This was my first "out of state" bird, a 2002 Texas Rio. These are just a couple of past hunts of mine.
