2007 Illinois youth hunt

Well dispite record-breaking temps in the 20s my son got his first turkey on the first day of the hunt.As if it wasn't cold enough he fell in the creek up to his waist in water to retreive the bird.

Makes the bird mean that much more if he had to soak for it in the cold.

Not just cold, but very windy back home too. Woulda been rough for me to turkey hunt in that. Congrats on you guys for sticking it out and bagging a bird.

Yes it extreamly windy, so we stuck in the creek bottoms and out of the wind. the turkeys did the same and we were there waiting on them. We had birds coming from every direction heading for the bottoms.
