man i went huntin this mornin and got tehre adn tehy responded a littel to my mouth call but alot to my Primos goobler. well it happened that a big ole gobbler came a walkin in when i was shakin it and he kept asnwerin back and he wouldnt aswer to my mouth call well i walked a lil bit to try and git within range and i use teh gobbler and he just kept stuttin and gobblin but he never came within 100 yards so i try to be as seductive as can be with my mouth call and i dint have a decoy and he never saw a hen and he was so biig i got nervous and over call and now i am kickin my self for it

Then when we get a turkey call in our hand we do the same thing. LOL
Don't sweat it, everybody does it to start. Just remember, when they gobble back to you they know where your at. Let them decide if they want to come over or not.

It's all about patience and not giving up. You were out there and at least you had a beard to work. I haven't had that opportunity in 3 years, so when I do find a bird again, i'm going to be flipping out, lol. Good luck!

Word of advise....in Illinois, I wait for a "commitment" gobble....I call, he gobbles.....I dont dare call again till he is "gobbling" a second and third time.....when he is closing the distance, let him....just do soft purrs if he is within 70 yards and already coming.....you'll drill one every time if you learn to shut up and listen to the woods.....if you dont hear a hen running her mouth as much as you...well, your doing something wrong....wait for the commitment, do some soft purrs while you wait, and I can't wait for the pics, cause' you will get the bird.........good luck.......al
