    Default Penn\'s Woods Mouth Calls

Hey guys. I just tried a Penn's Woods Sassy Hen mouth call today and I LOVE IT!! I was able to make every hen call! I could cut, yelp, tree call, flydown cackle and even purr with good sounds. It was a lot tougher to make those sounds with other calls like the H.S calls and some Primos calls. Dont get me wrong, those other calls work great, but with the Penn's Woods call I was able to make those sounds a whole lot easier. Im ready to call that big old gobbler into range this season for sure!!!! Has anyone else tried these calls?

Haven't tried any of their stuff lately. They are just down the road a ways from me, here. Every time I'm past I think I oughta stop in and nose around. But I never do.

How do you guys keep from gagging with mouth calls. I have tried and tried, but can't keep those things in my mouth. I would love to use them especially when the long beard gets closer so there is no movement for him to see.

    Any advice?

    Thanks.

    Andy

I was lucky in that having a call in my mouth never bothered me that much. But I have built up even more tolerance through time by keeping one in the side of my mouth, in my cheek, while I'm doing things: Watching turkey shows, for instance, or working outside. Now I'm to the level of tolerance that I carry one in my mouth all the time I'm out hunting and often don't even think about it still being in there until it's time to call or take it out at the end of a hunt.

As Hoyt03 said, "practice until you get used to it".

You can also try cutting down some of the tape, but be careful not to cut too much as it makes the call more difficult for a new diaphragm user to call on if there's little or no tape.

Ya the mouth calls dont bother me at all. Just keep practicing until it feels right. Eventually it will.
