I know that some parts of the state had a great season. But, KY overall did not do as good as the past 6 years. The is the lowest the total harvest has been in a long time. A couple reasons: bad hatch two years ago and very nasty weather opening weekend and week. The whole state had snow and freezing rain opening weekend. Did people still harvest, YES. But, those people who would have harvested or hunted didn't. So, I think the weather kept many hunters indoors the first week. Also, gobblers were firing it up two weeks before the KY youth weekend. And, the youth weekend statewide was awesome. After that, the season went downhill for many people. It was a tough season, I managed one gobbler after hunting 8 days in a row. I just hope all this early spring rain subsides and we are able to have a nice hatch for '08 '09.
