    Talking MY first turkey!!!!!!

    Ok I finally shot my first turkey....and it was a biggin

    Beard 10 12/16
    right spur 1 6/16
    left spur 1 7/16
    weight 29.6 pounds


    I got the bird weighed at my local meat cutters ( i know the guy ) but i didn't know to get it certified befor i cut it up...in michigan we only use the beard and spurs for scoring...well i'll know for next year. I shot the bird with my Remington 870 Special Purpous Super Mag at 45 yards....And as soon as i get my pics back i'll put one up.

    29 lbs?!?!??!?!!! Did you shoot it around Holt or someplace north? That's a monster! Congrats!

    Ya i shot right in holt....dont know if you know the area but just a couple streets behind the new High school....bunch of birds had my choice....shot the biggest one i saw in a group of 3

    Well, its been 6 or 7 years since I've been in Holt but am originally from Brooklyn, lived in East Lansing for 3 years, have family scattered all over Ingham and Jackson counties, and a friend that lives on Sycamore St in Holt. Beautiful area all over "down" there. Congrats on the monster bird!
