    Default Do Any Of You...

Do any of you use a bow to turkey hunt? I have a few friends that do and they say it's hard, but fun.

    Thoughts?

Even tho i seem to shoot better with a bow, i am going with my 870 for my first year turkey hunting. I think it's going to be easier for me with a gun...Just my opinion....

I was thinking about trying it with a bow this year and it would be my first year, but I'm not sure yet.

Hardest part , once u get one of them sly toms in range, is getting ur bow drawn back without spookin em. And unless your hunting from a tent blind and have a stool to sit on, shooting while sitting on the ground is a challenge.....ive been practicing that lately

My buddy and I fall hunted last year with our bows, we each missed a bird, called in a flock, I shot first, missed my bird, called a wary hen back in, he missed his bird. It was exhilarating to say the least. Have yet to try it spring hunting.

I do in the fall when our fall turkey seasons overlaps our archery deer season. It's a real challenge. My suggestion is using a blind and learning to shoot from a sitting or kneeling position.

I do in the spring and fall.
It takes practice but after a while you get the hang of it.

Haven't yet but I'm gonna try, maybe this spring on my second bird. That way the pressure is off and I can have fun with it.

Its tough. With turkeys eyes the way that they are it makes it tought to get drawn. I usually use decoys to take their attention off me.

Never have bow hunted turkey. First day I'm going to take out my shotgun then after that its ground blinding it for the rest of the season with my bow. Sure would like to nail one with it.

I usually try to take one or two with my shotgun then try to use the bow the rest of the year. I was fortunate enough to take one with 5 beards with my bow a few years ago.
