Im a fan of Hevi shot myself...just make sure the choke you buy is intended for Hevi shot use if you decide to try it. Wish i could help ya out a little more, but i use a mossberg for turkeys. Trial and error with combos always works........but that can get expensive.

*did the gun come with a turkey choke?? *

Congrats, when testing shells it is a good idea to get with a friend and split the cost of different types of shells, that helps with the cost and you can try more types of shells without breaking the bank. The type of choke depends on what type of shell you plan on useing,if you buy a choke that shoots heavy shot you can also shoot all other types of shells,if it is a choke for lead only your choices are limited to just that.Good luck and shoot streight.

My two Brownings really like the Winchester Supreme High Velocity loads.

I like #4s though they don't pattern like the smaller shot or multi-sized pellet loads. They do however pattern well enough to stone turkeys pretty much as far as you want to shoot one. I like Gobblerguns.com chokes. I use a 655 with #4 Winchester 3 1/2 2oz loads.

Some folks like Indian Creek chokes in Brownings. I have no experience with the IC chokes but I've seen some good patterns from them.

Both companies will suggest Load/Choke combos. Call their tech people and save yourself a lot of trial and error and money.

I have a Browning Gold. I shoot a kicks with Nitro ammo and get 300-320 in a 10 inch circle at 40 yards. Call Ray and Nitro ammo and he will tell you what choke and shells to get.
