Default Kevin Young turkey call - help

I was given an old paddle Turkey Call yesterday. It has a stamped identifier on the bottom, "Kevin Young Gun and Pawn Rt 1 Box 65 Locust Grove OK 74352" and various sketches of turkeys on the box. I have searched for information about this call, but without any luck. Does anybody know if this was the maker or just a commercial dealer of calls? It's well made, and likely from the 1960s.

    Thanks for any help...Gary

Thanks for the helps, folks. I talked with Kevin Young of Locust Grove, OK. It was his personal call. He was not the maker. He sketched the turkeys on the call, which was originally from Arkansas. Thanks again.

welcome to the forums, That is nice you actually talked to the guy who used to own the call.

Did he mention, or is it on the call who the maker is. Just curious.

He remembered where he bought it, but did not know the maker. I thought it was a Barnes Bros call, and emailed them a photo. Nope, not theirs. The previous owner told me he thought he lost the call, or that it was stolen, about 1984. I have no idea yet how my buddy (who gave it to me) ended up with it, but apparently it came via his wife's first husband. It's quite a mystery developing. I'm at a loss to know how to proceed now.

If the original owner LOST it or had it STOLEN from him I would think you should send it back to him IF he wants it back.....

I told him on the telephone last night that if we were standing and talking I'd hand it to him. He said, "No, it's yours. I don't hunt any more."

BTW, I told him that I'd posted this on this forum, and I assume he will read it. If he does you can ask him.

The story continues: I talked with my buddy again (who gave me the turkey call). He said he found it in the woods near Broken Bow, OK while hiking. He said it was a bit dirty, but otherwise perfect. He's had it all these years, and he's never turkey hunted. I told him about talking with the guy who lost it, and he said, "My God, it's been over 20 years. But I found it in Oklahoma when we went to Beaver's Bend State Park" (he lived in Texas back then). Small world, huh?
