I have a BPS 12ga. 3in. and I have put Remington, Winchester & Federal shells through it. The Federal MAG SHOK seem to be the best with the factory chock at 35 yards but i'm certain it could be better. Anybody have any ideas.

Unfortunately, every shotgun will shoot differently. You will need to buy a few chokes and test out several types of shells until you find out which one will preform the best. I bought three different chokes (four counting the factory choke), and six types of shells until I found out which one I liked the most. Comp-N-Choke does have a guide that will help you. But its not guaranteed that the results will work in your gun. This is the pattering process you need to go through. It will help a lot if you have any family or friends that have chokes that will fit your gun. If this is true, then buy a few shells from them. This way you can cut your costs down. Good luck!

Off The Porch is where it's at!!
welcome!! i second what strut said and lifenra. talk with your buddies and try thier chokes if they'll fit your gun. then make a day out of shooting your gun. i would recommend the jelly head, comp-n-choke or kicks. good luck to you!!
Welcome aboard. You've gotten some good advice above. If you would like to skip this trial and error process go straight to the best. Get yourself some Nitro loads (www.nitrocompany.com) and a Rhino or Indian Creek choke tube. Nothing will perform like Nitro. Check it out.
I just want to thank you all for the information & advice.
You quite welcome, and welcome to the forums too! Sorry!![]()

Try the federal lead loads with the flight control wad. I've tried many many loads and they always pattern the best through my BPS. Last year tried heavi-shot and the federal heavy weight and the lead still patterned better. So far I've used 3 chokes 1st was the Undertaker which was good, then the Comp-n-choke which was better, but last year I bought an Indian Creek. That thing is outrageous.
This is at 40 yards.

Great pattern WaCoyote. Your the only other Indian Creek user I've seen on here.
Thanks. They don't seem too popular but man does it shoot for me! The Comp was a great improvement but it had quite a few voids in the pattern. On all 8-10 loads I tested with the Indian Creek the patterns were more uniforn than with the Comp - n - choke. # of hits were comparible but there were some sizeable voids. Plus I believe Hevi is OK for the Indian Creek where it isn't for the Comp.
Hope to put it to use this weekend, OOH YEAH!

When I hunted with my BPS, it loved Win. Supreme 2oz. #5 with a Mad choke. It was great to 40 yards. If you looking for another choke try that one. Worked well for me. Good luck.
