Smile Got my First Gobbler this Morning!

    Hello Everyone,

I got my first Turkey this morning! A nice gobbler wiht an 8" beard and .75" spurs. I was walking in this morning when I heard him gobble. I got to the field as quickly as possbile, set up my decoys and sat down. I started to call to him. He responded immediately. I had him on a line for about 45 mintues from 200 yards away.
I thought he would approach straight in front of me into the field but he got on the road to my right. I was forzen while he had the 50 yard walk from the field edge until he got behind a big tree so I could shoulder my 935.
Man was he mad........strutten and gobbling at my gobbler decoy with the hen. He got to about 30 yards and gobbled again as he approached. I put the green dot on him and just as he stretched out I put him down. WHAT A HUNT!

I only had my cell phone to take pictures. I want to get a full mount of him and wanted to know if anyone when a good taxidermist near Pontiac, MI. Also, how much does a full mount run?

I will never forget this hunt and my first turkey.......I want him stuffed to keep the memory vivid!

Congrats on your first of many birds

Full strut mount will be probably $400 to $500.
Not in full strut gobbling on a limb or ground should be a bit cheaper.

Believe me, you don't need a stuffed turkey to remember that hunt. I took my first turkey 20 years ago, and remember it as plain as it was yesterday.

Congratulation on the fine 1st turkey ! Im sure there are more to come.
