    Default My Rainy Day Bird...

    I got him this morning...
    I have been chasin this ole tom for a good while and this morning was not his lucky day.
    When I got out this morning it was raining and wind was blowin' somewhere around 15/20 mph.
    I barly heard this bird gobble form way across this field which is a 1000 yards plus. He flew down at 6:15 and at 6:35 he has down runnin' to me...
    I worked him to me up to 8 yards before I took my shot.

    I'll tell you what now. This season has been a tough one. I was really starting to think I wasn't going to pull it off. But today was the day and it finally happened.
    I have had a few very close encounters but they just wouldn't close the deal because of thick brush. On one hunt I drilled a coyote coming at me at a dead charge and dropped her just 3 yards from me. You talk about a wake up call. I sure got my ole heart a pumpin' when that happened...

    Well I have one more week to see if I can bag another...

    22 lbs.
    10 inch beard
    7/8 inch spurs

    It was your call that did the trick once again to. Sending out that sweet sound out to Ole Mr. Tom sure brought him in to met Ole Mr. 835 Mossberg...
