    Default Finished in Texas.....

    Well the season is ending as I type this this evening. It opened up 2 weeks earlier than the norm for South Texas.(March 15) Early on the birds were henned up and it was tough hunting.Slowly as the season progressed the hens were leaving and nesting and hunting was a little better. I did have a couple of great chances but I made mistakes on getting caught off guard. I watched 3 yr old gobbler I named "gimpy" everytime I went out, I wanted him bad. He looked like he had been in a bar room fight with lots of tail feathers missing and had a bad limp but managed to keep up with the rest. He eluded me this year so I'll try again for him next year. I was succesfull though.....this isnt him but none the less a decent bird.

    21 lbs 1 1/8" spurs 11 7/8" beard
