The weight of bird to bird can very a lot. Hard telling without pictures. 18 lbs would not be outside the scope of believability.

I have found that when I clean the bird of it's guts, feathers, skin, head/neck and legs/feet, I lose about 5 lbs. I weight before and usually after because my mom wants to know how much it ways for cooking and that always seems to be the case, about 5 pounds less when dressed.
