    Default Finally.....(bird pic)

My season doesnt start until the second week of May so my buddy told me that I could go and call for him. This is is second year of hunting and my first time calling, I managed to bring in a bird for him somehow...LOL

To tell the whole story, it was 20 minutes til sunrise and my buddy had a long night of sitting around the wooden serving tray and wasnt going to make it up in time. I called him twice and woke him up both times. By the time I got to his house, the sun was coming up. He gathered as much as he could as quick as he could, on the way out the door to go to the field outside his house he decided that the gremlins in his stomach needed to go for a swim so I started the trek without him. About 5 steps into the field and I realized that the bird we were wanting to see was already in the field srutting by himself!!! I ran back as quick as my little hip replaced legs would go and proceeeded to knock on the window of his bathroom. He met me at the door and we started to set up almost in his yard. The wise bird decided that from 200 yards away something wasnt right about a 26 year old waddling out to put a decoy up and went running full speed dissappearing into the timber on the opposite side of what we were.

This is where it gets good.....

We decide that instead of folding our blind up we would walk across the field inside the blind and sit it back down on the edge of the field!!! You can imagine 4 legs sticking out of a pop up blind dropping it down on top of the decoy and it dissappearing when we lifted. Funny to say the least.

    Needless to say...

4 yelps later and a few clucks and the bird re-emerged on the edge of the field and was locked on the decoy!!! We harvested him not long after and have a story to tell for a lifetime!!!
