Public land tactics...

So I know I want to do some hunting over by camp on the state land this spring. I have an idea of some possible good areas deep in the woods I can access by camp trails.

I figure if I go, go on a weekday, possibly go late morning, and run and gun?

Any tactics you guys use that are helpful?

I've called for several seasons now for my cousins on public ground and if we didn't get any off the roost we always set up on the ridges that we know where the strutted.
