    O.K.!! I'll go first!!
    This won't take long.

If the PA Game Commission allows these extra tags to be issued for an extra spring gobbler, I'm against it!!!!

    O.K.!! I'm done.

I have a problem with the $20 fee! I think the PGC is trying to make up lost revenue that they see coming from their idiotic deer management! Tell me why they charge $6 for extra doe licenses, and $20 for the extra turkey tag!

    Sorry $20 raping charge!

I know other states charge more, and charge less! I keep hearing the turkey population is rising, I can see an extra tag, but not $20! Then they will need even more money once the TURKEY LICENSE MAKES ITS ROUND, ON TOP OF YOUR REGULAR LICENSE!!! That means you will have to buy two licenses, turkey and the regular, plus your extra tag! Ahhhhhhhh but its in the name of management!!!

    I hate the PGC!!!

Don't like it either....I think we need some hens shot off...not gobblers! I also don't like the way the PGC handles these things. If it was for the best of the flock...then why charge anything? After all, is it something that needs done to ensure a healthier flock of birds for our future...or is it about $$$$

I like it so far, but it does not sound like they have all the specifics worked out yet so I will wait and see what they decide to do before I agree or disagree with it.

I strongly support the NWTF. They're the ones who pushed for this bill. Like I said before, part of the money is supposed to go towards turkey management.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I also support the NWTF (along with a few others in here), but the killing of two gobblers just don't seem to make sense. Other than the PGC making $ from it...who else benefits from it?
If you want to support the NWTF so much...send a check to your local chapter instead of the PGC.

    Here's my humble opinions:

    1. The $20 pricetag does not bother me. In fact, I would be in favor of paying $20 each for both a first tag and a second one. I would also be in favor of EVERYONE having to pass a "turkey hunter safety course" before they could buy any tags.

    2. I do want to know exactly where the money is going to go.........not where it may go.

    3. A 2 gobbler limit in the spring is just plain wrong. By allowing 2 gobblers in the spring, the game commission would be allowing hunters to do to the turkey flock (over-harvesting of males) exactly the opposite of what they tell us is healthy for the deer herd.

Pale Rider is right, it will have no bad effect on the poupulation. Mississippi allows 3 birds to be taken during the spring season per person and they have to highest bird poupulation in the nation. Go figure.

I'd be interested to know how many turkey hunters there are in Ohio and Mississippi compared to how many in Pennsylvania.

I know there are more turkey hunters in PA than in any other state.

The question is how many people are actually going to buy this extra tag. It's hard enough to tag one gobbler in the spring let alone two.

If I understand it right...you'll be able to buy the tag at any time. So if you harvest a bird early in the season...go to wal-mart and buy another tag.

Thats why we need to harvest more hens...the gobblers don't want to leave the hens they have.

So you think we should have some kind of season for hens in the spring?

I wouldnt mind hunting all day either....actually I wouldnt mind being able to hunt from 12 until dark. Well...maybe I should take that back, nothing beats the morning woods.

But, it's the same moronic logic in having the first day of deer season on a Monday. Hello PGC.....some people work during the week ya know!!

Dont agree with the extra tag and no way agree with all day hunting.
It all amounts to more money from our pockets to the fat cats in Harrisburgs pockets. As a Senior Sponsor member of the NWTF I am also very upset that they have backed the second tag. I talked to many other members at our last chapter meeting and they also are not happy about the situation either. I think because of this you are going to see a lot of guys dropping their sponsorships.
Frankly I believe both organizations are getting too top heavy. Just my personal opinion on the matter.
