    Default Locator Call Sounds Terrible.....

Just bought a brand new HS Strut "Hammerin' Crow Call". Now, I've never used a crow call, but it sure doesn't sound right to me....

I'm not saying that it's a bad call, or defective as I have never used one before and it could be me. It says it's adjustable, but doesn't tell how to adjust it.

Anyone else have one? If so, how in the world do you adjust this thing?????

I generally adjust mine to as high as pitch as I can. Found that I get a better response this way. Really doesn't need to souond like a perfect crow call.

borch is right---a lot of the locator calls don't really sound like a true crow---if you get a true crow caller they will usually have a little different pitch.

I bet it will work fine.

To tue a crow call, you have to take out the insert. Push the reed further in, or closer to the tip of the insert. Usually, they need to be about 1/8" from the tip of the insert to sound the most like a crow.

I have a Hammerin crow(along with several others) and it is one of my favorite for crow hunting. Second only to the Lohman Gold series crow call.
