    Question Turkey Gun

I have a chance to pick up a turkey gun and was wondering what you guys think is the best gun for the money or what is a good gun to use.

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Thanks.

IMHO.........best bang for the buck, by far, is the Remington 870 Express.

Mossberg is a pretty good gun at a pretty good price if you ask me....I have 2 500s....one is the super bantam which is better fitting for me.....Never had a problem with Mossberg.

I agree with the 870 express, you want to get fancy get it with the Knoxx stock on it and all the extras. you can buy one for below 450
Hunting, is a tradition that was passed on to us by our ancestors, lets pass it on to our children. Take a kid to the woods with you. You will have no greater feeling than to watch that kid become successfull in taking there first animal.

    Wink Turkey Gun

Picked up the Mossberg 835 yesterday and it is sweet. Adjustable stock, pistol grip, camo finish, red/green dot scope, sling, etc and all for less than $600.00.

    Thanks guys appreciate your input.

U know, there are alot of good guns out there, special turkey guns with short barrels but if your like me you dont have money for LOTS of guns, when i wanted to buy a shot gun for turkey hunting it needed to be able to do more than just kill turkeys, so i bought a Remington 870 Special Purpose Super Mag, the special purpose means it's full cammo, and the super mag means it can take a 3.5in shell, now its a bit longer than some guns but is very managable in both turkey hunting situations and the other reason i bouht it, the duck or goose blind, also with it being at 870 i can change the barrel for a slug and shoot deer, I have taken three turkeys with it in the last 2 years and two of them have been at 40 yards. The other nice thing is that the 870 is such a popular gun that if anything ever breaks you can find and change parts quick and easy but with as reliable as they are you probably wont ever have anything to fix.

I just bought a Benelli SuperNova 26" 12 ga. for $492. It's dipped in APG HD and so far I love it...put a turkey to rest with it last Saturday.

I got my Browing BP 20 guage when I was 16 and used it for everything I hunted for - dove, pheasant, quail, & turkey. I moved and left the gun with my dad 4 years ago, but had the chance to hunt dove's this fall. My uncle loaned me his Remington 870 supermag 12 guage and I loved it. Just don't shoot those little doves too close or there will be nothing left of them. With it's power, I bet it would even do well on waterfowl.

I know they come in camo and that you want a gun that can be used for different seasons, so I think this might be the gun for you. However, the others mentioned might work too. I just don't have first hand experience with them.

This spring I bought a new turkey gun...a Escort Magnum 12 gauge auto in the 'Turkey' setup...and I love it. It's a great shooting auto and I'm pleased with it...funny thing is, after getting it, I didn't bother to grab my 870 for a few months. Well about a month ago, I got the 870 out and cleaned it up a good bit and took it out a time or two...it reminded me of how much I really love this gun.
Put it this way, that Escort will have to do a LOT to ever take the place in my ranking of top shotgun!
