wow!

well guys, this is the day. w/ my diapghragm, i actually did a yelp. it was a lil raspy and rough cause i never have before and the call i was usin was bad and old. i got it by sayin kee-yuck! how would i do a cackle and purr now? so i can work more. thanks yall!

congrats on the yelp! with that you have mastered the most important sound with it.

I use a purr by fluttering my lips---keep the mouth closed with the lips lightly touching--then gently force the air across the call and let the lips flutter. I also can do a purr by flutter the bottom of the call with my tongue. It was definetely (purr) the hardest to achieve---and when I have a big tom 50 yards away and trying to purr him in it even gets harder.

i can't use a diaphram but i am good with a box and slat or glass call. i have never been ablet o make them puppies sing so i do what works for me

the sharp clucks or cuttin can be acheived by saying ...CHUCK CHUCK. as for the pr(hardest for me to get)forcing air through thr call , with mouth closed and fluttering the lips like making a moterboat sound...make sure nobody is around cause inadvertently you'll spit all over the place...ha-ha...practice- practice-practice

Sometimes its hard to explain to someone how to do it. Best advise I can give, since you know what it should sound like...practice when ever you can. Don't try just "blowing" air acrossed the reeds...try making the air come from deep down in your chest. This helped me control the air flow and achieve better sounds.

Purr, I stick the Call at the roof of my mouth and use my tounge and Purr like a cat! Works perfect!

I met Wil Primos at the PA Sportsman show several years ago. I surprised him when I asked a few questions about the videos every Saturday I watched. Then he asked me if I remembered how to call. I said these words to him! As I would be with the call in my mouth!

kit-kit-kit, kat-kat-kat, shalk-shalk-shalk!

He said to me bingo! The shalk part he said at that time was the easist way he could get somebody to do a yelp. It worked for me, I continued to drive my parents crazy for the rest of the year!

I got my daughter a diaphragm after much begging on her part. If she keeps practicin wth this.....she's gonna be better than Dad pretty soon. Everytime she makes a sound it tickles the top of her mouth.....she laughs and giggles. Its awesome!!
