    Question Decoy Question

Well, I'm getting all my gear together for the upcoming season (three months away, I know ) and I've got my Flambeau decoys in storage. My problem is, I've got them folded while in storage, but how can I get them to go back into position without collapsing on the stake while out in the field? And another thing, I've got a couple hunts planned in one week chasing Merriams in the Black Hills of Wyoming and South Dakota and Easterns on the way home by Mitchell, SD. Has anyone ever used decoys while chasing Merriams in mountainous terrain and what tactics did you use? Also, what decoys did you use? I have a passive jake, a feeding hen and an upright hen. Thanks!

stuff them full of newspaper and let them set out, that should get the creases out

Thanks for the help, guys, it wasn't really the creases that bothered me so much as their heads folding to the side. I can already see a difference and the wads of newspaper are really supporting the heads well!

As far as the decoying for the merriams. I hunted Wyoming last year and used one feather flex jake and took a hen and set her close to the ground. I had eight gobblers just get worked up about that jake being buy that hen. It was also the last three days of the season i was hunting in but then again the outfitter i hunt with has a ton of land and limits the amount of hunters. It was an awesome trip. Going again this May.
