    Default Best Bird Ever

Well I put the smack down on my best bird ever this morning. His stats are as follows,
    1st beard 10 1/4"
    2nd beard 9 1/2"
    Spurs each 1 1/2"
    Weight 22.16 pounds

This bird came off the roost early and hung on me at 70 yards in the spoil piles of the old strip mine ground with a couple of hens.
I watched him for 30 minutes and could not get any of them to move towards me for the whole time. I tried a few soft yelps but no doin! He wasn't leavin the girls.
Finally the girls committed to going the opposite way with my boy in tow.

Well this just was not going to happen, so I put the old appache sneak mode into action and closed the distance to 50 yards. When the hens tracked through a opening in the limbs I knew ol thunder chicken would be in tow.

When he hit the small opening I had I let out a low toned whistle and the head popped up. I let er rip and down he tumbled!

Man what a feeling to have a big mature bird on the ground the first day of my week!
