The earliest the increase could go into effect is April 19, 2005. "With current fees still in effect when new licenses go on sale February 18, 2005 for the 2005-06 year, hunters and anglers can save money by purchasing their licenses early this year," explained Gebhardt.

If folks who are out-of-state hunters were smart, they'd get their lic. early this year and won't have to worry about the increase until next season.

Lic. fees are going to go up everywhere, just part of life. I don't like seeing such a large increase for non-res. lic...but what can ya do?

Be a "smart shopper" and hunt another state. If a box of shells is $10 at Dick's and $15 at Gander Mountain..................where do you buy 'em??

For those of you that hunt Tennessee as a nonresident, go to the link and read about the fee increases for this year. Tennessee is raising the Nonresident fees 60%. Thant will make the out of state biggame license about $250.

I really think we're starting to see the end of Sport Hunting as we have come to know it. Too many Anti-Hunting Groups out there that want to end Sport Hunting, in this country. They can't take away our Firearms so they are going to price us out of hunting and gun ownership.

TWRA expects the license increase to generate an additional $7.5 million in a full year. The earliest the increase could go into effect is April 19, 2005. "With current fees still in effect when new licenses go on sale February 18, 2005 for the 2005-06 year, hunters and anglers can save money by purchasing their licenses early this year," explained Gebhardt.

This is laughable True, Non-Resident Hunters could save some money by buying way in advance, but what happens if they are unable to hunt this comming year for whatever reason??? Do they receive a refund???? Seems like this "Stunt" is being pulled more & more by the various states.
