    Cool first time fall turkey

This state has made some changes with seasons and has implemented a fall turkey for our county. Don't know what it is about our property, but we see way more turkeys on our ground in the fall than we do in the spring. Have had some nice longbeards walk under me in my climber too many times to count.

Anyhoo, can kill 1 either sex with archery, and then have a quota hunt(we qualify for as landowners without applying) gun hunt in December while the deer is set to archery only where there is an additional bird allowed.

There's a first time for everything.
Good luck on your fall birds. We get the either sex tags here too in the fall. Some frown on taking hens this time of year but given the oppertunity I take it. Tom or hen makes a great wild Thanksgiving dinner.

You got some mast trees dropping on the propperty that could be the draw in the fall. Or could just be the opposite, no mast but ag crops ready for harvest.
Spring and summer food sources (insects, new growth shoots, dandellions)
Not sure if baiting deer is legal or not in your area, but if corn piles are appearing where they normally aint...well enough said.
Anyhow, best of luck to ya and enjoy your new season.

We see birds pretty regular around Thanksgiving time and have seen them on Thanksgiving day a few times, but they were never legal then. Shot some good video last year of 3 nice Tom's just a day before Thanksgiving, would be great to have a smoked wild turkey for Thanksgiving dinner.

We don't have a fall season at my end of the state as of yet ... NOT that those Turkeys have much to worry about with me ... I can't seem to hunt those rascals, to save my life ..

Good Luck with those fall birds this fall William ... I hope you bag one ..

I have never taken a turkey in the Fall either. It's just so hard to shoot one and not worry about messing up your deer hunt, but it a good thing to have the option to shoot one.

Like you, I see a more birds in the fall than in the spring on my farm. I simply find where they use and set up. I don't bother with busting the flock because I don't want to run them off my property.

Last year the day before Thanksgiving I called in a flock of 40 birds within 20 yards.
