I don't know too much about dogs but the shows that I have seen where they were hunting squirrels with dogs, they used mainly Blue Tick hounds and various other hounds along with Beagles.
Beagles are good for hunting rabbits
Beagles will work for everything except possibly squirrelsHeck, they might do a decent job on them, I never tried them on that. They are a smart dog, and you usually train them for 1 type.
too_
fiest are good little squirrel dogs
Ive seen beagles hunt pheasents with the best labs and pointers........
Got to thinking last night as I was reading an article in Wild Ohio, if you're going to hunt coons with a dog, don't you need them to bark treed?
In that case, I'd go with the beagle. I've seen beagles hunt pheasants pretty good. Don't think they'd be much on retrieving or waterfowl though.
I don't hunt with dogs but I have heard that alot of folks use beagles.
i have an old beagle thats gonna be 10 years old that my grandparents got me when i was 12.....she's a decent rabbit dog and one HECK of a bird dog...i'm sure she would hunt coons up to but i never wanted her getting chewed up....now that shes older we usually only take her out a couple times a year when my buddys dad lets us have some phesants to put in my our fields
