SOUTH DAKOTA PHESANTS

ANYONE HUNTED PHESANTS IN S.D. THIS YEAR.I'M HEADING UP TO MITCHELL ON THURSDAY AND WAS WANDERING HOW THE HUNTIN HAS BEEN SO FAR THIS YEAR.I'VE HEARD IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER THAN THE LAST FEW YEARS,BUT IT SEEMS LIKE I HEAR THAT EVERY YEAR.

I haven't been up there for a few years but there "bad" years are still phenominal years if your use to hunting Illinois... i hunted an area that was across the river from Chamberlain... Best pheasant hunting I've ever been on in terms of pure # of birds.

JUST GOT BACK LAST NIGHT.THERE WERE 13 OF US HUNTING AND WE GOT OUR LIMIT EVERYDAY EXCEPT FOR ONE.YOU'RE RIGHT ABOUT PHEASANTS IN ILLINOIS.I'VE BEEN GOING TO S.D. FOR 10 YEARS AND IT JUST IS'NT THE SAME WHEN I HUNT THEM IN ILLINOIS.WE SEE AROUND 100-150 BIRDS A DAY IN S.D.

As far as #'s go we had a group of 30 when I started going and the last year I went we had 40 guys in the group... we limited out everyday... 3 birds X 30 guys = 90 birds a day... 3 birds X 40 guys = 120 birds a day... and we missed alot too ... it's waaay to much fun!!!! Hopefully I'll be able to get back out there one of these years

IT IS A BLAST,AND WELL WORTH THE DRIVE!EVERYONE GETS PLENTY OF SHOOTING.WE EVEN BAGGED 23 RABBITS THIS YEAR.NEXT YEAR WE'RE GOING A WEEK EARLIER AND HUNTING AN EXTRA DAY IT'S EVEN SUPPOSED TO BETTER YET.OUR TOTAL WAS 150 ROOSTERS THIS YEAR IN 4 DAYS WITH 13 GUYS.
