first rabbit hunt

I was on my way home from work yesterday when a friend flagged me down. he asked if i wanted to go rabbit hunting behind my house. i had never been before and wasnt really that interested but agreed any way. i only had an hour before i had to pick up my boy from the sitter. we got five in 1 hr with no dog. all i have done since is think about going again.

i bumped 5 in my field while i was deer hunting saturday.

Yeah the first time I went was about 5 years ago. I shot my very first rabbit. The rabbit came hauling butt down a hill and I let him have it at 15 yards. I hit him right under his chin, he rolled three times and went into a thicket. He was squealin and makin all kinds of noises and my beagle quickly ended that.

It's awesome to go on a first hunt on any game. I love to shoot them on a run, it's a challenge if you don't follow thru with your shots.
