    Default Question for you all

It seems to me that in todays world Id guess 90% or more of hunters are big game hunters. Deer, Elk, Turkey etc. etc. But how many of you still hunt small game or upland? And how many of you hunt them more than the larger game. Personaly I consider myself a beagler. Field trials and rabbit hunting have grown into my passion. And if I had the time or money Id love to own a good bird dog. Ive never killed any big game and who knows if I ever do I might join the mass's.

I hunt pheasants, quail, huns, grouse etc etc. I'm not sure that 90% of hunters only hunt big game and nothing else. It surely depends on where you live. We have Elk, Moose, Bear, Whitetail, Muleys, Blacktail, even sheep and goats but LOTS of people bird hunt. I don't know anybody who hunts sqirrel or rabbits though. In fact I grew up hunting and didn't know people actually hunted sqirrel until I joined the service. I can't speak for other areas of the country but in the northwest theres no way 90% of hunters only hunt big game.

    P.S. I don't consider turkeys big game.

I'd say in years past I spent for hours in the field on small game than anything else. This year I found turkey hunting both spring and fall and it has been pretty much a 50-50 since. I'd love to be able to spend more time on deer but just haven't made the time yet.

I still hunt doves, rabbit, and pheasant, but right now, Ohio is prime land for deer, so I tend to spend more time hunting them.

I love to hunt squirrels. I'll go after squirrels up until deer season then once deer is over, I hunt squirrels and rabbit and grouse till the season closes. It's all good eating and good fly tying material

I always have and always will hunt squirrels and rabbit.

    But bowhunting is my world.

Next year I'm wanting to get into some bird hunting with my uncles.

I love grouse hunting, even though deer is prime right now, I still go out for the odd grouse hunt if I'm not deer hunting. But from Sept. 20th until now, lookout! I grouse hunt like a maniac.
