Find the food sources, oaks, hickories, corn, etc. This time of year you can see their nests too.
Find a spot, sit down, and wait them out.
Good luck!![]()
Don't cry because it's over, smile because you were there.

it"s a blast huntin those tree rats , that"s one of the first things i ever hunted besides pigeons and doves , they can be a little tricky , they run to the opposite side of the tree they"re on , what i do is toss a stick or rock by the tree to make the tree rat expose themselves , i use the 410 shotgun alot for huntin tree rats , they"re tasty as well . our season opens in august and runs through december , good luck
Just find a bunch of nut trees and sit downThey'll come
Take care,
Nathan
alright when i was deer hunting tonight i found myself putting my muzzle loaders scope on there heads just for kicks lol and my freind says he uses a dog to hunt squirells?"
This time of year in my area I sometimes just go for a slow walk thru the woods. Tons of squirrells are on the ground burying/digging nuts. Usually it is fairly easy to sneak close to them when they are rummaging around on the ground making lots of noise themselves. I will take a break & as others have said find me a good nut tree & have a seat for awhile. They love to go to corn fields also.
