I used to love squirrel hunting! I can remember anticipating October 1st for squirrels like I do now for bowhunting deer. Since taking up bowhunting, that's where all my xtra time has gone. I hope to introduce my nephew to it this Fall though. I have a lot of great memories squirrel hunting as a kid with my Dad!

I love going out with a bunch of friends and squirrel hunting. Do any of you use a call. I have a squirrel call that doubles as a squirrel in distress call that works well.

I don't go out just for them like I used to, but will take a few every year when bird hunting. They aren't that good eating for myself, but a few times a year I can stuff them down LOL.

I cant hit the darn things so i just go once or twice. When i do go i end up lookin for deer signs and snakes, not bothering to look for a squirrel. Dont get me wrong i love to eat them so thats where my dad comes into play

There is not enough in Minnesota.. but when I was a kid there sure was... Where did all the squirrels go?

I hunt 'em. Usually only about 4-5 times a season, but thats enough to shoot 10-15 squirrels.

I used to hunt them all the time but then little by little my bowhunting got to the point where it eats up almost all my hunting time. Squirrels are one of my favorite game animals to eat, nothin better than squirrel stew. I have to make an effort to "get back to my roots" and start hunting tree rats again.

usually, if i get my deer early, ill go out during the month of january when the snow is on the ground. i like to find some tracks, track em, tree em, and shoot em

They must have all come to SC-we are loaded with them here. I couple of weekends ago my two brothers,me, and my buddy went squirrel hunting. I limited out(12) for the first time. I shot 8 with my .17hmr (4 were over 100 yard head shots ) and 4 with my .22. The rest of them shot 11, so we got 23 in all. I have some pics, i'll have to see if i can post them.
