    Default Critter Hunting

What kinds of guns do you guys usually use for the little critters?
Would a pellet gun be a bad idea? I've never done this before and the only thing I hunt now if deer and I want get more involved.

Depending on the pellet gun, yes, they will kill certain types of small game. Squirrel, rabbit, blackbirds, etc. I have an RWS, .177 that shoots a pellet in the neigborhood of 1,000 fps. It will effectively take game out to say around 50 yards.

Personally, I use my 20 gauge Benelli for most of my upland species.

A pellet gun is fine, but i prefer using a .22
I figure God only gave me so many sunrises, I might as well not miss one.

Yes, I also like the .22 if it's possible. The air guns that are shooting so fast these days aren't much quieter.

How much does a .22 usually cost? I don't plan on shooting from far away(30 yards at the most), so do you think a pellet gun would be good then?

Here is a link to the exact same .22 I have, you can click on the hyperlink on the webpage and check prices.

I would think one of the faster shooting pellet guns would work on small game. I shoot a Marlin .22 rifle for squirrels, and I use my 12 ga. on dove, 20 ga. on rabbit.

    Hope this helps.

I'd go with a .22 over a pellet gun if I could. I got my Marlin for about $89 I think.

    Marlin model 60? I think it's a 60. Semiauto with a tube magazine. I bought it in 1989 I think.

My pellet gun was $50 more.

Well, my .22 is the exact gun that I gave the link to above. Semi-auto with a tube magazine, holds 14 shots. The MSRP is $179.00.

Here is the link to the price...

What are you trying to say?

I could show you plenty of dead targets that my Marlin has killed.

I can consistently shoot 5 shot groups that touch each other at 50 yards with that cheapy Marlin.
