    Yep, they're a blast. Literally.

I took a buddy for the first time once down on our lease in Morgan county. We flushed 8 or 9, but never got a shot. The best flush jumped up from under my buddy's boot. I heard it, but never saw it. He looked at me, eyes all big and said "What the F was that?" I said "That's what we're hunting, why didn't you shoot?" He said "It scared the crap outta me."

    Welcome to grouse hunting.

I have probably shot at least 200 or 300 grouse so far in my life and i think 2 were flying. They are so dumb here(overconfident about how well their camo works) you literally can't make them fly. For that reason i hunt them with a bow or a .22 most of the time now. Usually a hunt is short, you walk until you see a group of them, open fire, get one or two, the rest fly into the nearest tree and you limit out on those lol. I had no idea you had to wing shoot themin most places until a couple years ago.
