Not quite pumped up yet....to early for me....lol... very cold here today...and windy.... I will be hunting hear in indiana and atleast 3 to 5 days in Missouri. I was out in Missouri 10 days ago... ole pop said there are atleast 50 birds hanging around the farm, but they sure do play hard to get once the season starts!

Howdy, Strut Checkin in. Not really thinking about turkey season... mainly cause its balls cold outside still. But I'll get there. My season is April 27-may 1. I also have Track. That meas my hunting time may be limited but i got one last year. Just depends on when the meets land.

If you are going to shoot lead....I have found the Winchester Supreme XX Mag. turkey load 2oz. # 6 or 5 shot to be the best all around lead shot.... ..
I shoot Hevi-Shot 1 5/8 oz # 5's ...madd choke # 1012...I am never going back to lead for turkeys..its all about energy

Almost any combo works within 30 yards... I shot my first bird with 7 1/2 shot lol many moons ago

They say you have to buy a Hevi-Shot choke, they are made of SS.

Its all about what your gun likes. Mine all seem to pattern best with 3.5 Winchester supreme HV #6's. Hevi Shot i have never been impressed with except in my 20ga. I was getting less bb's in center and paying $2 a pop.

Well Guys I jsut wanted to let you all know this is my first year turkey hunting and I have no one to teach me anything so I have to learn on my own. I have done farely well deer hunting on my own. I bought a Winchester 1300 12 guage pump that shoots 3' shells and I put on a Nikon Scope tonight. Any tips would be very helpfu.
